What is Blogging?

Blog came from the two words “web” and “log.”Blogging is basically, updating your journal or diary online. It is a place to express yourself to the world. It can be anything you want it to be. It could be a life diary where you post everything that happens in your life, it could be a cookbook where you post your recipes, etc. It can be deeply personal or it can be a company blog where you post about your products. It is just like vlogging but instead of making videos, you write.

Why do we blog?

Every human has a voice and wishes their voice to be heard. Bloggers have the opportunity of reaching hundreds or even thousands of people each and every day. Just like mentioned before, some people want to just share what has been going on in their lives. They could update their blogs a number of times in a single day, sharing the readers what happened that day, why it happened and how it happened.

Blogging could be related to hair tips, up-to-date news, technical information, celebrity scandal, political rumor, get people involved in volunteering, advice on investments, online drama, etc. There are some blogs related to niche topics like cooking, health, gardening, etc.. Some people might just want to share stories or poems or maybe some people might want to share something more personal.

The reason for blogging can be anything! Blogging is just telling your readers, your side of the story, your opinion.

Blog Tips and Tricks

Blog basically means, writing about an event, situation, topic, product, procedure,etc.. If you ask a blogger how to write a blog, everyone will usually have a different answer. Blogging is an art. It is different for each person.

However, here are some tips and tricks every blogger uses.

  • Know your content.

Know what you are gonna write. Don’t freestyle it. Make a plan. Make sure the facts you post are credible.  Make sure you know what you are gonna write, if you aren’t confident about it, do more research.

  • Know your audience

Know what your audience is looking for. Are they looking for an answer to a specific question, are they looking for a slice of life, etc. Make your blog based on it. This will help you input keywords and images too.

  • Start with a rough title

Don’t think too much about the title, in the beginning, just start off with a rough simple one.

  • Write an intro

This is the most important part of any blog. This is the make or break part. You need to hook in your readers. you can be empathetic, you could tell a joke, you could shock the reader with a crazy fact or stat. You want to make your readers read more of your content. So it has to be really good!

  • Present the reason for the post’s existence.

You need to show your readers, why you posted, what you posted. Just because you know the purpose of your post, doesn’t mean the reader does. It is your job to explain it and give your audience a reason to keep reading.

  • Keep your content relevant

Your blog should not lose track and you should not cheat your readers and SEO. You have to provide them with relevant information or your blog will never be successful.

  • Make and Arrange Bulletins

Brainstorm all your information. Make bullet points of what you want to include on your blog. Then arrange your bulletins in what format you want to write and how it looks good. Arrange them in such a manner that the viewers don’t get confused while reading them.

  • Turn the bulletins into actual paragraphs

Now explain your bulletins. Don’t talk about how great a certain thing is but explain how it can positively change their lifestyle. Back up your paragraphs with credible facts. You could link the source of the facts using anchor text or just post the URL.

  • Write

Now that you have your paragraphs, write them on your blog now. Make sure there are no minor mistakes in grammar or spellings.

  • Make your Blog User-Friendly

This means, you should make your blog elegant but at the same time, it should be easily accessible. You can do it by decreasing the size of the heads as you go on, using line breaks, decreasing the size of pictures and making sure the website is functioning properly in mobile phones.

  • Use Anchor texts

Anchor texts links to another website, hence readers can understand better what you are trying to tell them.

  • Insert a call-to-action (CTA) at the end.

Give readers something more to continue reading. Show them what more they can understand.

  • Optimize for on-page SEO.

Be sure to use keywords in your content. Optimize your URLs, metadata, images, etc. Make sitemaps to help SEO crawl your website easily.

  • Turn the rough title into an Epic One.

As you go on writing your blog, you will get more ideas about it yourself too. Now all you have to do is turn your rough title into an EPIC one. Make It short and sweet.
